The House Story
Drogo House began in South Los Angeles with a simple conviction: the things we do every day should be done with care.
I. THE BEGINNING
THE RITUAL OF THE HOUSE
Drogo House was founded in South Los Angeles by a husband and father whose Catholic faith, love of coffee, and belief in the dignity of daily ritual came together around one idea: ordinary things are worth doing with care.
What began at home—coffee prepared each morning, faith practiced daily, and a table shared with family—became the foundation for the House.
From there came a desire to build something around those same habits: good coffee, thoughtful preparation, and a little more intention in the everyday.
We built the House around that idea: specialty coffee and thoughtfully chosen provisions for people who believe routine can become ritual.
II. WHY DROGO
A NAME ROOTED IN DEVOTION
St. Drogo was a twelfth-century pilgrim, shepherd, and hermit whose life became marked by work, prayer, solitude, and perseverance. Tradition also associates him with the patronage of shepherds and coffee-house keepers.
His name gave the House a fitting patron and a reminder of what we want the brand to hold onto: humility in the work, discipline in the ritual, and attention to what is often overlooked.
III. THE STANDARD
SPECIALTY COFFEE. ROASTED TO ORDER.
Coffee is the foundation of the House. Every coffee in Intercession™ is made with specialty coffee beans, selected for distinctive flavor, cleanliness, and cup quality.
Our coffee is roasted to order in small batches and shipped directly from the roastery to your door. We do not hold large inventories of finished roasted coffee waiting on a shelf.
Your favorite blend should taste like itself every time you return to it.
IV. THE HOUSE IN COMMUNITY
THE HOUSE WAS NEVER MEANT TO EXIST ONLY ONLINE.
Drogo House coffee is already being donated and poured within our local Catholic community, supporting fellowship and the shared table. The mission is not an aspiration for someday. It has already begun.
We believe a House becomes real through the people gathered around it—in homes, at parish tables, and wherever an ordinary cup becomes an occasion for hospitality and connection.
V. THE ALMSGIVING
RITUAL SHOULD BEAR FRUIT.
Every purchase contributes a fixed amount to the mission of the House. Those funds support local Catholic community initiatives and established charitable organizations serving runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth in the greater Los Angeles area.
The commitment is simple and measurable: $1 from standard coffee, tea, powder, and apparel; $2 from each 2lb coffee bag; and $5 from each 5lb coffee bag.
